Before I comment on She's A Star, know that I am a fan of both Max Sebastian and Kenny Wright. I buy all their Kindle books and enjoy them.So, my thoughts on She's A Star? The theme or themes are new and different and interesting and stimulating. Without spoiling your opportunity to experience the plot development and "emotional angst" for yourself as the female protagonist spreads her wings, just know that she will transform before your eyes as you read page after page .... and speaking of pages, the length is good, and when you read the last page, you will be wanting more. The story is sexy and erotic and stimulating and emotionally gut wrenching ... or at least it was for me.
I do have one comment, maybe a recommendation, but not necessarily, as the author knows his characters better than the rest of us, and he has to be true to his concept of who and what they are ... that said, I found the male protagonist too wimpy and unbelievable. He is not a humilated cuckold; if he was, I wouldn't have read the book, but he is too "uninvolved", too "uncommitted", too "casual" about his wife and what she does. He accepts things as they happen or as they are about to happen without any objection or reluctance or insistence that she not do it or do it differently or just prove to him that she is not playing him for the sucker that he seems to be.
The story line does not include a husband who acts like his wife is something that he values above all else, to the extent that sharing her with another man is like red hot arrows flaming through his heart and mind .. which it should be in my opinion. Let me be clear, the story generates plenty of heat and I can't stop thinking about some parts of it, but ... it would have been better for me personally if the husband had been hurt by the things his wife did ... willingly, and probably with full intent to cheat on him ... rather than just let her do what she wanted without any indication that she was killing him by doing it. That is the problem, I guess, she wasn't killing him. In fact, she doesn't seem to boil his blood at all.
It would not be in my emotional makeup to yawn if I found out that my wife, the woman that I really love, is willingly becoming the lover of another man. Even if I got a super hot sexual charge out of thinking and talking about my gorgeous wife becoming another guy's lover and sexual plaything (not saying that is what she does in this book, but if ....), I would go crazy if she actually did it and especially if she did it to the extent that she was with him more than she was with me, choosing to be with him instead of me, and having sex with him all over the world while I stayed at home knowing she was with him and that she was giving him everything he wanted from her, never saying no, and loving every minute of their illicit relationship.
So, I would rather that the male "feel the pain" and show it, and tell her that he feels it, and that she feel quilt and shame or some emotion appropriate to her learning that she is tearing his heart out, even though she choses to continue her infedility despite what it is doing to him ... maybe even because of what it is doing to him ... who knows?
My 4 star rating reflects my preference for a stronger male role in the story. The story is a good one and worthy of your consideration. If there is a sequel, I will buy it and read it, voting with my billfold, not just my words. Thanks for the story, Mr. S and Mr. W.

I had to debate with myself as to whether to give this a 4 or 5 star rating, then, I realized that the debate I was having meant that this was a 4 star book and not a 5. A 5 star rating should be a "no-brainer"..a no doubt about it kind of thing. So the question becomes why? I mean it's a great story, superb author and very well written but something about it held me back. First, I will say that during the later part of the book I was reading along and thought to myself that this book had more of a "Kenny Wright feel" to it than others by this author. I smiled to myself when I reached the acknowledgments at the end and saw that in fact Kenny Wright did, in fact, collaborate to a degree with the author (somehow I didn't catch that earlier). I can't exactly put my finger on it so to speak but there is definitely a Kenny Wright touch to it.
So I read the other reviews after I finished reading the book and as I was trying to sort out my feelings about the book. Many of the negative reviews centered on the narrator for the story, the husband David. I think I have to mostly agree with some of the other reviews although my criticism is not as harsh as some of the other reviewers. It's just that as readers we are experiencing the story from David's perspective and he is at times just too darn passive. I remember at one point in my reading where I was just like "okay, no way. I couldn't just go along with that" or "come on man, don't be a stick in the mud!" Some of his responses just don't seem normal. However, if you think about it, David is not in a normal situation in the story and that's what creates drama. In spite of my comments I still liked David.
All in all, it's a great read and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in this or related genres. I like how it's a couple-centered story and I loved how Hayley seemed constantly concerned with David's feeling and her bringing him into the "situation" as much as she could. I enjoyed the addition of Liona as a character and man oh man do things really get going towards the end...very hot stuff and I loved all the different scenarios and pairings. I can assure you that I will buy sequels if there are any. This story is far above many that I have read in this genre or sub-genre, however it's classified.
