I found an old copy that belonged to my parents and read it pretty quickly.It's essentially a series of individual portraits of men who took part in the Great War, and it's quite fascinating.
It may suffer from being so episodic, but I wouldn't expect large, sweeping, and incredibly researched books on great events to come out the year the event ended.
Instead, what we got here was something, perhaps, more important. We look into the lives of the men who had to go through Hell for their countries. In an interesting twist, the events at the battle of Gallipoli are presented, even though it is often regarded as a part of the war that Great Britain tried to brush under the carpet, so to speak, for decades.
